SHIELD is a support group made up
of homeschool families dedicated to teaching their
children for the glory of God.
It was started over ten years ago to offer support,
encouragement, resources and activities for our members.
We accomplish this through group meetings, mom's night
out, seminars, educational materials and membership in
SCHEA (South Carolina Home Educators Association).

Renewing Our Minds One “Thanks” at a Time

As homeschooling
parents, our days are full. We have the roles of
teacher, administrator, homemaker, mom and wife to
coordinate. Our minds our continually bombarded by what
has to be done. In the midst of this, we sometimes
forget to be thankful. With our minds are full of
important duties, we often do not take the time to
appreciate the good things. After all, that’s not
getting anything done when there is so much to do! But
we need to take the time – it is part of renewing our
minds.
